1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the R&Z Projects website and the handyman, painting, and landscaping services we provide in the Mackay region, Queensland.

2. Services
R&Z Projects provides the following services in the Mackay region:
- Handyman Services: General repairs, maintenance, carpentry, installations, pressure washing, and related work
- Painting Services: Interior and exterior painting, residential and commercial, surface preparation, and finishing
- Landscaping Services: Garden design, maintenance, lawn care, irrigation, planting, and pest management
3. Quotes and Pricing
3.1 Free Quotes
We provide free, no-obligation quotes for all services. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified.
3.2 Quote Accuracy
Our quotes are based on the information provided and our assessment of the work required. If the scope of work changes or unforeseen issues arise, we will discuss any price adjustments with you before proceeding.
3.3 Additional Work
Any work beyond the original quote scope will be quoted separately and requires your approval before commencement.
4. Booking and Scheduling
4.1 Appointments
We will schedule work at a mutually agreed time. We aim to be punctual and will notify you as soon as possible if there are any delays.
4.2 Access Requirements
You must ensure we have safe and reasonable access to the work area. This includes:
- Clear access to the property and work areas
- Removal of obstacles that may impede work
- Securing pets during our visit
- Providing access to water and electricity if required
4.3 Cancellation
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in a cancellation fee.
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Payment Methods
We accept payment via:
- Bank transfer (EFT)
- Cash
- Other methods by prior arrangement
5.2 Payment Schedule
For smaller jobs, payment is due upon completion. For larger projects, we may require:
- A deposit before work commences
- Progress payments for extended projects
- Final payment upon completion
Payment terms will be clearly outlined in your quote.
5.3 Late Payment
Invoices are due within 14 days of issue. Late payments may incur additional charges and may affect our ability to commence or continue work.
6. Our Obligations
We commit to:
- Providing quality workmanship using appropriate materials and techniques
- Completing work in a timely and professional manner
- Maintaining appropriate trade qualifications and certifications
- Carrying comprehensive public liability insurance
- Cleaning up work areas upon completion
- Communicating clearly about progress and any issues
7. Your Obligations
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the work required
- Ensure safe access to the work area
- Make timely decisions when input is required
- Make payment in accordance with agreed terms
- Disclose any known hazards (e.g., asbestos, electrical issues)
8. Materials and Products
8.1 Material Selection
Unless otherwise agreed, we will select appropriate materials and products for the job. We use quality materials from reputable suppliers.
8.2 Customer-Supplied Materials
If you supply your own materials, we are not responsible for their quality, suitability, or any defects. We may decline to use materials we consider unsuitable.
9. Warranty and Guarantees
9.1 Workmanship Warranty
We stand behind our work and will rectify any defects in workmanship that become apparent within a reasonable period after completion.
9.2 Material Warranties
Materials we supply may carry manufacturer warranties. We will provide relevant warranty information where applicable.
9.3 Exclusions
Warranties do not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or third parties
- Issues arising from pre-existing conditions not identified in the quote
- Customer-supplied materials
10. Liability
10.1 Insurance
R&Z Projects maintains comprehensive public liability insurance. Certificate of currency is available upon request.
10.2 Limitations
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to:
- The cost of re-performing the services; or
- The cost of having the services performed again by another provider
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
10.3 Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, or supply chain disruptions.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the R&Z Projects website, including text, images, logos, and design, is owned by R&Z Projects and protected by Australian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission.
